My passion for civil engineering was sparked by my childhood fascination with buildings, which was nurtured by my father's thoughtful construction-related gifts and our visits to construction sites.
Experiencing displacement due to floods in my community intensified my interest in sustainable construction. When it was time to choose my undergraduate major, I knew civil engineering was the perfect fit for me, and I thrived in my studies. My commitment to volunteer work and community projects in both the US and Nigeria reflects my dedication to environmental sustainability and education. In recognition of my contributions, I received awards, and I'm determined to continue making a positive impact on communities, with a particular focus on sustainable building and disaster relief. Looking ahead, my long-term goals include pursuing a PhD, actively contributing to the ASCE community, and mentoring the next generation of civil engineering students.
