I am thrilled that I was selected as one of the recipients of the Latinos In Transit (LIT) 2023 scholarship. The award ceremony, held on October 9th, 2023, in Orlando, Florida, was a truly remarkable experience.
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the LIT Board of Directors Alva Carrasco, Herold Humphrey, the scholarship award committee Mariela Garcia-Colberg, et al for finding me worthy of this scholarship. Your support means the world to me, and I am committed to making the most of this opportunity.
I'd also like to express my gratitude to Pittsburgh Regional Transit for sponsoring the scholarship.
The event allowed me to connect with some incredible minds Dietter Aragon, Eder Sanchez, and Caleb Losey in the transportation industry who are making tremendous impacts. A special shoutout to John Drayton, who generously shared some extraordinary professional advice that will undoubtedly shape my career. I appreciate your insights, and I will carry them with me on my journey.
In addition, I am immensely grateful to my departmental chair Laura Sullivan-Green for coordinating the affairs of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at San Jose State University and ensuring we have firsthand information about outstanding opportunities like the LIT Scholarship and many more. To The Rev. Kathleen Crowe thank you for the unwavering support and for making sure that I attend the award ceremony. I am also grateful to the LITLA Committee Program Coordinator Christina Villarreal you are indeed amazing, and thank you for your outstanding coordination of the award's affairs; Your hard work did not go unnoticed, and it made the event truly special.
I look forward to the exciting opportunities and experiences that lie ahead, and I am motivated to continue making a positive impact wherever I am found.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement.
